Course

West Herts is a beautiful 18 hole country course surrounded by woodland. Set in peaceful surroundings with tree-lined fairways and well-bunkered greens, it has always been a golfers course.

The relatively level terrain makes for easy walking but our Professional has buggies for hire.

An ongoing programme of course maintenance and manicuring ensures the best possible playing conditions throughout the year. The course offers a challenge to all standards of golfer - rewarding of good shots, it is considerate to the moderate and punitive to the bad.

 Distance markers are placed on the fairways - blue disc 200 yards to the centre of the green, yellow 150 yards and red 100 yards.

Flags are colour-coded - red indicates that the hole is at the front of the green, yellow in the centre and blue at the back.

Visitors and societies are requested to play off the Yellow tees unless by prior arrangement

Bernard Darwin’s remark of 1910 still applies;
“A fine day at Cassiobury comes within a measurable distance of heaven”
