David runs an expert team of qualified PGA professionals who are dedicated to helping you enjoy better golf. David offers an extensive range of services in the newly refurbished Golf Studio equipped with TrackMan Launch Monitor, from one-to-one coaching to enjoyable custom fitting experiences.

Maybe, you had too many three-putts as a result of poor distance control? Or did you miss too many fairways to the right meaning you had to chip out sideways? It could be that you play well in practice rounds with your friends but struggle to replicate that in competitions?
Through our experiences in the game and our PGA education, we appreciate that every golfer is different. That’s why we offer a range of lessons and packages to suit everyone.
David Griffiths - Head PGA Professional
I joined West Herts Golf Club in 1992 at the age of 12 and it’s been home for me throughout most of my golf career. I represented my club, county and country as an amateur before turning professional in 2001. I gained a tour card on the Web.com tour in the USA in 2003 before returning home to earn my European Tour card in 2004. I played 4 full seasons on the tour, finishing 3rd on 2 occasions. After dropping back to the European Challenge Tour and gaining partial European Tour status in 2013.
Sam Little - Teaching Professional
I started playing golf at 9 years of age and soon caught the golfing bug. I represented both Hertfordshire and England between the ages of 15 and 21 winning the County Championships plus some amateur events. I decided to turn Professional in 1998 and had several years playing professional mini tours, I got myself onto the European Challenge Tour and happened to win 5 times and eventually gained my full European Tour status in 2004. I played 10 full years on the main tour with a fair amount of success, I finished 2nd twice, 2007 Mallorca Classic and the 2009 Czech Masters. I decided to call an end to my full-time playing career at the end of 2014. I have now dedicated myself to being the best golf coach I can be and try to instil my wealth of golfing experience onto my students. I still try to play as much as I can as I think it is important to show that side of myself to others.
Louis Campbell - Teaching Professional
I have spent the last 4 years competing on the Mena Golf Tour which is based in the Middle East, the tour also has allowed me to play events on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa and the Asian tour in Thailand, alongside other events around the world and here in the UK. I have also gained a huge insight and great knowledge from caddying on the European Tour and learnt a lot from playing with some of the worlds best players and speaking and listening to the best coaches in the game. This experience allows me to adapt my coaching style to help you get the best from your game.
Peter McEvoy - PGA Professional
Peter has been involved in Hertfordshire golf for over 45 years. He represented the county at all levels before turning professional in 1990 to pursue a career in coaching.
He spent seven years in Rome playing on the European Challenge Tour but mainly working in his role as Director of Golf.
Peter returned to the UK in 2000 to take up the role of Head Professional at Old Fold Manor GC.
He joined us here at West Herts in 2016 where he has been coaching players from all categories from beginners to European Tour players.
Peter is a fully qualified PGA AA Professional.
Charles Gough - P.G.A. Advanced Golf Professional & N.L.P. Sports Master Practitioner
Available for one to one coaching or group coaching sessions for all level of golfers.
I believe in coaching the person and not just a technique as every person is different.

Trackman Swing Studio
Open to both members and visitors, the Indoor Performance Centre boasts a TrackMan launch monitor. If you’ve never used one before, it gives us tremendous insights into your game, helping to map out your bespoke improvement plan. It really is an incredible piece of equipment.
Available for fun social play, data driven coaching and club custom fitting simply call the shop.
New to Golf
Are you new to the game of golf or returning after a long break? Golf is a great way to stay fit, meet new friends and learn a new skill. Our aim at WHGC is to make starting out in golf a simple and enjoyable process. Whether you join our adult academy or enrol in a course of private lessons we have a structure in place to get you up to speed with all you need to get out and enjoy what golf can offer.
Adult Academy
We aim to run an annual Academy at the Club commencing in the Spring to include the following:
Six Saturday group lessons
Two individual half hour lessons with golf Pro
Access to course, initially supervised
Academy Buddy from the membership
Full use of practice facilities
£10 green fee when playing at other restricted times
Full use of clubhouse and welcome to social functions
Member’s card for discounts on food and drink
